Rectangular panels on both faces bear rough hand-scratched markings; the lettering is not reliably legible. The base reads STORM KING WINDPROOF LIGHTER. Its removable insert is marked PRECISION MADE BY PARK SHERMAN, SPRINGFIELD, ILL. U.S.A.; that mark identifies the insert, not a separately marked case origin.
