Vintage TONALA Pottery MEXICO FOLK ART Handmade Painted SQUIRREL

Size 4.5\" high at tip of tail, 3\" wide from side to side, 5\" deep from back to front

Features a gorgeous handmade pottery squirrel, covered in traditional Tonala Folk Art stylized painted lines and flourishes. Color is a warm grey, with cinnamon-orange and tan lines, mainly on his tail.

His pose is wonderful- sitting up with his paws to his mouth, as if he is eating a nut

Very cute expression- charming

These are getting harder and harder to find in such great shape. Weighty and beautifully made.

Excellent condition,he does have one VERY small flat spot at the tip of his left ear which is smooth to the touch and incredibly minor [see last pic] and hard to notice. No other nicks chips scratches or flaking to paint, no fading, and no damage or repair.
