Vintage Brass Rail restaurant “Feature” matchbook by Lion Match Co., Inc., advertising its location at 7th Avenue and 49th Street in New York City.Bold blue, orange, black and gold Art Deco graphics decorate the cover, with the slogan “An Eating Place of International Fame.” Inside, the remaining illustrated matches form a colorful brick fireplace and roasting scene labeled “Old English Roasting Jack.”The interior advertising promotes the restaurant’s food, cocktail lounge, bar, music and dancing—a charming piece of vintage Manhattan restaurant history.Estimated to date from the 1930s–1940s. Exact production year is unknown.CONDITION:Partially used, with ONLY ONE ROW OF FIVE illustrated matches remaining. Other matches have been removed.
