About The Castaways Miami Beach: Opening its doors in 1952, The Castaways and its cocktail lounge, Wreck Bar, was the place to be in the 1950s and 1960s. The hotel attracted several celebrity guests, including The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Lenny Bruce. Wreck Bar hosted budding entertainers such as Ike and Tina Turner and Conway Twitty. The hotel closed its doors in 1979, but for those who frequented this hotspot, its charm and legacy will not be forgotten.
