Original Tom Bergin’s Tavern luncheon menu mounted to a red stained wood board under a clear laminate, produced as a Perma Plaque.

Menu header reads The House of Irish Coffee, Tavern, with a hand painted green banner across the top. (most likely the painting is to paint out information as this was used as the Hollywood prop)

Layout is built around a large green shamrock graphic holding the Specialties of the Tavern and Sandwiches à la Chef sections.

Listings include Irish Pot Roast at 7.25, Dublin Style Corned Beef ‘n Cabbage at 7.25, Welsh Rabbit simmered in Bass Ale at 6.75, Jake’s Stake charcoal grilled New York sirloin at 9.50, The Berginburger at 5.50, and Bergin’s World Famous Irish Coffee.

A blank Chef’s Favorite box sits at the center with handwritten notation reading choice of soup or salad, your waiter will describe this tasty entree.

Footer carries the address 840 S. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles.

Tom Bergin’s opened in 1936 and has occupied the Tudor Revival building at 840 South Fairfax since 1949, holding what is reported to be the second oldest liquor license in Los Angeles, and is known for its Irish coffee and its shamrock covered ceiling.

Menu pricing and the beer list place this piece in the late 1970s to 1980s.
