The Americal Division served extensively in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The presence of both Americal Division and Seventh Army insignia makes this an especially interesting uniform for further research and display.
The jacket itself is WWII-era in style; however, because some insignia may represent later service, this is being described conservatively as a WWII-era / postwar U.S. Army uniform grouping. I cannot verify that every insignia currently attached was originally issued with the jacket or worn together at the same time.
An Army bag acquired with this group bears the name Denis Z. Van Booven. Because I have not established a definitive connection between that individual and this jacket, the jacket is not being represented as a named Van Booven uniform.
Condition
Good vintage condition for its age with expected wear from use and storage. There are areas of discoloration, spotting/staining and other age-related wear visible on the jacket. Insignia also show age and wear.
Please examine all photographs carefully for condition, insignia, markings and included items. Photos are considered part of the description.
Nothing has been removed or cleaned.
Sold as a historical collectible exactly as shown.
Excellent display piece for a U.S. Army, Americal Division, 23rd Infantry Division, Seventh Army, WWII or postwar militaria collection.
