Vintage US Army WWII Personalized Trench Art Brass Shell Ashtray 350th Inf Italy
5\" wide x 3\" tall w/two rests
Perfect addition to your collection!
This is a true WWII era ashtray belonging to the individual whose name and service number is stamped onto the ashtray\'s plaque. The unit insignias and the stamped unit information indicates the owner was assigned to the HQ Co., 1st Bat, 350th Ing, 88th Div(later redesignated as the 88th Infantry Division) and ordered into active military service 15 July 1942. The unit wasinactivated 8 October 1947, in Italy. The ashtray is also stamped with the towns of Gorizia, Trieste, Udine, and Tricesimo (we did not research this, but assume these are locations the ashtray\'s owner was stationed at or traveled through). We also think this ashtray was most likely given as a gift for the owner\'s Army service in Italy based on the date.
Pre-owned, handled, well used, handmade, and showing many obvious signs of actual heavy use, wear, age, and tons of patina. Consider the pictures.
