Vintage USS H-7 Submarine San Pedro California Postcard Navy Base 4 Delta AZO RP:
$499.99

Up for sale is an exceptional, historic vintage Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) capturing the U.S. Navy submarine USS H-7 (SS-150) docked at the Submarine Base in San Pedro, California.
The incredibly clear, sharp photographic view prominently shows the distinct hull marking "H-7" on the conning tower of the vessel as it rests alongside the wooden pier. Sailors can be seen on deck, and a single seagull is captured mid-flight above the harbor waters, creating a striking slice of early American naval history. Commissioned in late 1918, the H-7 operated out of the short-lived San Pedro Submarine Base on battle and training exercises before being transferred east in 1922.
This piece is an authentic Real Photo Postcard printed on unused photographic paper stock. The stamp box on the reverse side features the AZO mark with two triangles pointing up and two triangles pointing down, accurately dating the manufacture of this photographic paper to between 1918 and 1930.
The reverse side includes a wonderful period handwritten inscription in pencil that reads: "Some Subs at the Base of San Pedro." The card remains unposted and is in beautiful, clean condition. Please check the scanned photos carefully to evaluate the condition of the corners, edges, and surface. A premier piece for collectors of U.S. Navy submarine memorabilia, World War I-era naval bases, or early Southern California maritime history!
