Beautiful vintage Lenigrushka Jānis & Māra Latvian folk doll pair, produced in the former USSR (Soviet Union) and attributed to renowned doll artist Marianna Motovilova.
These coordinating boy and girl dolls represent traditional Latvian national dress and feature wonderful period details throughout—from Māra’s long braided hair, patterned skirt, cape and decorative headpiece to Jānis’s traditional hat, vest, trousers and woven-style costume accents.
Both dolls measure approximately 11 inches tall, made of hard plastic and are in exceptionally well-preserved vintage condition. They are extremely clean with bright, vibrant clothing, beautiful hair and clean faces. No obvious damage or significant wear noted. Considering their age, these two look absolutely remarkable.
They are being sold together as the matching Jānis & Māra pair and will not be separated.
No original box, paperwork or tags are included, and no maker markings were found on the exposed areas of the dolls. Identification is based on documented examples of this Lenigrushka Latvian national-costume pair.
