Vintage United Air Lines pilot/service wing badge attributed to Leavens Mfg. Co., Attleboro, Massachusetts, featuring the classic red, white and blue United shield, detailed gold-tone wings, and four individually prong-set clear stones in the upper wreath.
The four-stone configuration is associated with United’s 25-year pilot/service award wings and is a desirable variation for airline and aviation insignia collectors. Style is consistent with United pilot wings from approximately the 1970s–1980s.
The clear stones were tested with a Presidium gemstone tester. They do not test in the diamond range and instead register approximately in the spinel/topaz range, so they are conservatively described as clear gemstone/simulant accents rather than diamonds.
Very good vintage condition with attractive enamel and strong overall presentation. Please review photos closely for age-related surface wear and exact condition.
