Vintage Westmoreland Hen On Nest, White Milk Glass With Blue Slag Head For Sale

Beautiful Westmoreland Milk Glass “Hen on Nest” Covered Dish. Featuring a striking contrast, this piece showcases an opaque white milk glass body paired with a vivid, blue slag glass head. The hen sits atop a classic basketweave texture nest accented by a delicate beaded rim border. Westmoreland manufactured "Hen on Nest" dishes for many decades, but they did not begin consistently stamping their famous "WG" logo directly into the glass molds until the late 1940s to early 1950s. Prior to that period, pieces were identified solely by paper or foil labels that easily washed off or peeled away over time. The lack of a stamp makes this a very old piece of collectible glassware, possibly antique.
