This gorgeous Grape Harvester goblet was made by Zsolnay of Hungary. Some of the most sought-after Zsolnay items today are those that feature the famous luminescent glaze called Eosin. The name refers to the Greek goddess of dawn Eos. The secret Eosin technique which Vilmos Zsolnay developed in the 1890s creates iridescent metallic colours that are unique to every piece. Each Eosin object is unique and unrepeatable!
At some point the underside has been touched up to cover the standard wear that always occurs on the bottom of cups. My guess is it was probably displayed on glass so they decided to touch up the bottom. There is none of that on the main body of the goblet, which is in mint condition.
This cup is 6.25” tall with a mouth diameter of 3.25”.
