Description:

For sale is a gorgeous, matching pair of heavy vintage/antique cast metal bookends teaturing beautifully detailed cherubs (putti/muses). One figure is depicted reading a tablet or book, while the other is writing, making them the perfect neoclassical accent for a home library, office desk, or bookshelf.

These are solid, substantial pieces with a very heavy weight that easily holds up large books. They feature a stunning dark patina finish on the bodies with contrasting antiqued gold/bronze textured wings. The bases are smooth and completely solid, which is characteristic of older, high-quality casting methods.
