The photo is from March of 1945 in Pirmasens, Germany where a lot of action was going on the city Pirmasens in the background of the photo is bombed out and a US Army soldier 71st Infantry is standing between and empty road and sign that reads: Front Lines STOP No Traffic. The US military was bombing the city to cut off German supply lines.
