Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of Australian mid-century kitchen history. This set brings together two iconic Melbourne manufacturers from the 1950s/1960s golden era of local design.
What’s Included:
• 6 x Peacock Ware "Hawaii" Anodised Tumblers: Manufactured by the legendary Stokes & Sons in Melbourne. Features six distinct harlequin colors (including the deep vibrant red pictured). The bases are clearly stamped: "Peacock WARE, Hawaii, STOKES • MELB."
• 1 x Brian Davis & Co. Travel Flask Case: The clear, double-walled outer container with a white flip-top lid. This is a very early piece of Australian plastic design made before Brian Davis and Company rebranded into the famous household name Décor.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The anodised cups retain a gorgeous, high-gloss metallic finish with deep pigment. The stamps on the bases are fully legible. Minimal age-related surface wear/light scuffing from stacking, as expected with authentic picnicware of this era. No major dents. The plastic outer case is intact, clear, and functions perfectly to keep the cups safely nested. Has some marks which is expected for its age and material.
