Provenance:This item belonged to my maternal Grandfather, who worked as a truck mechanic for the Philadelphia Laundry Co. from 1923 until 1950; then transitioned to automobiles from 1950 until 1960 at Northeast Lincoln-Mercury in Philadelphia, Pa. He then returned to being a truck mechanic at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Pennsauken, N.J. from 1961 until 1971, when he retired. In 1984, he gave me (his only grandson) all of his tools from the 1920s through the 1960s. He is pictured in the last photo, which is from 1951 during his Lincoln-Mercury days. I have a large tool chest filled with his Snap-on, MAC, Proto, Bluepoint, New Britain, and other antique and vintage mechanics and other tools that I will be listing until they're gone. Description: This item is a vintage 1950sStevens Walden 3100 C14 Midget Wrench & Socket Set in 1/4" Drive that is missing the cross bar and one socket. It includes the following items that are all in a matte black finish (except the case):
- Felt-lined Metal Case (measures 6.75" x 3" x 1.25")
- SpinTite Square Drive Handle 3118 (looks unused or very lightly used)
- Hinge Handle 3117
- 6-point Sockets: 7/16" (3114) * 3/8" (3112) * 11/32" (3111) * 5/16" (3110) * 9/32" (3109) * x/x" (3108)* 3/16" (3106)
- 12-point Sockets: 3/8" (3161) * 5/16" (3160) * 1/4" (3159)
This set was manufactured in the USA by Stevens Walden Inc. in Worcester, Mass. during the 1950s.
