Up for sale is a vintage 1950s ZERO Model 1265R electric desk fan, manufactured by the Bersted Manufacturing Division of McGraw Electric Co. This classic mid-century fan features its original metallic seafoam green/teal hammertone finish, four metal blades, protective wire cage, and distinctive teardrop-shaped base.

History:

ZERO was one of the recognizable American electric fan brands of the mid-20th century. ZERO fans were produced by Bersted Manufacturing Co., a longtime maker of small electrical appliances that became part of McGraw Electric Co. in the late 1940s. During the 1950s, Bersted continued producing fans and other household appliances under brands including ZERO. These durable all-metal fans are great examples of postwar American industrial and household design, from an era before plastic became the dominant material for small appliances.

This Model 1265R retains the attractive streamlined styling associated with the period, including its hammertone metal finish, rounded wire guard, four-blade design, and sculpted base.
