Vintage 1955 Ruppert Knickerbocker Beer Counter & Wall Tavern Sign Featuring Iconic "Father Knickerbocker" Mascot
For sale is a premium, beautifully preserved piece of New York City brewing history: an original 1955 Jacob Ruppert Brewery "New York's Famous Knickerbocker Beer" advertising sign. This large, highly displayable piece features the legendary colonial character Father Knickerbocker raising a fresh glass of beer.
The sign is built with a heavy, mid-century multi-medium construction consisting of a molded white plastic lower base topped by a thick, bright chrome bezel framing the central lithograph. The reverse is capped with its original factory masonite backing board.
The lower reverse corner features the crisp, factory-molded authentication text: "RUPPERT KNICKERBOCKER BEER, JACOB RUPPERT, N.Y.C. 1955, STOCK NO. 2116".
