Up for sale is a charming collection of six (6) vintage 1960s Western Union "Dolly Gram" promotional stuffed rag/velvet dolls, originally made by the Vermont Toy Farm. These 6-inch kitsch dolls feature printed expressions, felt accents, small faux-flower pockets, and distinct raffia straw hair. They were used as a creative gimmick by Western Union to promote their greeting telegram services.
This lot includes:
- 1x "Happy Birthday" (Orange hair, holding felt birthday cake)
- 1x "Please Cheer Up" (Black hair, holding flowers)
- 1x "Have a Happy Day" (Brown hair, holding flowers)
- 3x "Just to Say..." (Varied outfits: Green velvet, Red velvet, and Hot Pink velvet)
Condition Details:
- Four (4) dolls are in good vintage condition with bright fabric colors and full raffia hair.
- Two (2) dolls (specifically the Green "Just to Say" and the Red "Have a Happy Day") exhibit significant raffia straw hair loss/balding, as shown clearly in the photos.
- Minimal age-related shelf wear, light dust, and minor fading to the felt feet typical for items of this era. No original boxes or paper cards are included.
