Today I am offering this gorgeous vintage Italian mouth-blown glass \"Fashionista Lady\" Christmas ornament.
This piece was produced during the 1980s. This date is evident because it features a metal ring hanging loop instead of a cap.
This was done to create a seamless aesthetic. The De Carlini craftsmen avoided standard metal caps during this era because they would disrupt the design of the wide-brimmed mesh hat or the delicately styled doll hair.
The craftsman inserted a long wire loop directly into the hot glass blow-hole before it cooled. The wire is anchored deep inside the glass and you can actually see the very tip of it at the bottom where the ornament ends in a point.
This hand-crafted figure features a striking glittery pink mermaid-style evening gown, a matching wide-brimmed pink hat, elegant tulle netting, and delicate miniature white flower accents.
She measures approximately 9\" total length.
