Unique vintage clay face medallion, measuring approximately 1-7/8 inches long, 1-1/4 inches wide, and just shy of 3/4 inch thick at its highest point. Looks like it was made by hand-pressing clay into an open mold. The back shows indentation probably from the artist’s fingers. Gray color may indicate a low-heat process.
This piece features expressive Mesoamerican-style facial features, wide round eyes, and visible artisan finger impressions on the flat reverse side. It is in good vintage condition with an unglazed finish and natural surface wear consistent with age.
