Vintage South African Ndebele Beaded Fertility Doll Handmade Folk Art Tribal 26”.This is a pre-owned Ndebele doll which has bee made into a lamp (works). She is in remarkable condion and the only flaw which is noteable is the fabric on the left shoe. The lamp is priced without the shade. It does have scratches. See the detailed description below. Traditionally theNdebele, Zulu dollsare made by the Ndebele, Zulu and other southern African womenesto encourage fertility and to instruct girls at time of their initiation into womanhood.These dolls are handcrafted with decorated beads. The traditional doll's beads represent wealth and social status among the Zulu people.

• Handcrafted/Handmade.
• Made of Cotton fabric, colorful glass beads, string and wire.
• Skirt and flap are real hide and raw hide.
• Decorated with beads.
• 26” tall, from the bottom of her feet to the top of her crown.
• Very good condition with the exception of the red foot covering fabric.Please note the fabric has holes at a corrner/edge;due to age. Refer to photos of the foot blocks. Fabric can be stitched back together.
