Vtg Navajo WALLACE YAZZIE JR. Sterling & Turquoise Pendant Large Bale For Sale

This vintage Native American sterling and turquoise pendant is signed Wallace Jr.The artisan isWallace Yazzie Jr. , an expert Navajo nation silversmith celebrated for balancing traditional Navajo techniques with a refined, clean, and contemporary aesthetic.His pendants showcase meticulous stampwork, handmade bezels, and , in this case a beaded border. He pairs his silverwork with high grade, natural Southwestern turquoise.He is well-documented for using gem-grade Easter Blue turquoise. While some can be vibrant sky blue, the mine also yields beautifully soft, opaque, pastel-blue tones layered with light orange-brown host rock similar to the turquoise in this pendant. I do not know for certain and I am not an expert in turquoise but the soft muted tones are typical of Easter Blue. Just a guess on my part.The mine origin is not formally verified. The polished domed turquoise could be from any number of mines but rest assured that it is a fine piece of turquoise. If it should happpen to be Dry Creek turquoise thas is even better and commands a higher price.The pendant alone measures 1 1/2 inches high and 1 1/4 inches wide with the stone being about 4mm less all around. The generous stamped bale adds an additional 3/4 inch and has a 3/8 inch opening for a leather cord or sturdy sterling chain. The vintage condition is excellent.
