Pair of original WWII-era U.S. Army Medical Department handleless custard cups manufactured by Carr China and Sterling Vitrified China. These heavy-duty military mess hall cups are wonderful examples of American military medical history.

Cup 1 – Sterling China:

Features a maroon accent stripe around the upper rim and the U.S. Army Medical Department caduceus insignia. The underside bears the Sterling Vitrified China manufacturer’s backstamp from East Liverpool, Ohio.

Cup 2 – Carr China, 1942:

Features the circular United States Army Medical Department winged crest. The underside is marked Carr China Co., Grafton, West Virginia, with the factory date code “42,” indicating manufacture in 1942 during World War II.

Both cups feature the thick, durable vitrified construction associated with institutional and military dining ware.

Condition:

Both cups are in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light, normal shelf wear is present on the bottom base rings, consistent with age.
