WW1 Bronze Death Penny in original Case And Medals - Pte: Frederick Bonnington: $334.84
Hi I am selling some of my odd items I have collected over the years. Here is a Vintage Rare WW1 Bronze Death Penny in original Cardboard Case for Frederick Bonnington, service no. TR5/171672, a soldier who served in the British Army during World War I (1914-1918). The Death Penny was a commemorative plaque given to the families of fallen soldiers. This particular item was manufactured in the United Kingdom and is a significant piece of militaria collectable from that era. Frederick Bonnington served with the 52nd Bn., Durham Light Infantry and died on 26th May 1918 aged 18 . He was the son of Frederick and Janet Bonnington of 154 Flewitt St, Nottingham. He is remembered with honour at Nottingham General Cemetery. Is showing some signs of patina but otherwise in good condition. There are also two medals awarded to Frederick, one is a N.S.S.A Quarter Mile which stands for Nottingham Sunday School Association and was given to winners of the association’s track or swimming events. It is dated 1912. The other medal is a cross stating the national federation of church Sunday school and also dated 1912. Both medals are inscribed with Frederick’s name to the reverse. Please see photos for condition and sizes as these form part of my description. What you see is what you are getting. One of many items for sale on my site. I have given as much information as I can. Any further information on this item would be greatly received. If you require any further pictures please ask. The international postage cost stated is for USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada etc, not for European countries. Please enquire for costs to Europe and any available difference will be refunded. Thank you for looking.
