This is the first leaflet disseminated by the British government during World War II. - ‘During the hours of darkness on September 3, Whitley bombers strewed northwestern German towns with six million leaflets in which was aWarning(‘Warning’) to the German people of the dangers and defeat they were bringing upon themselves’ (R.G. Auckland inThe Falling Leaflet. Aerial Propaganda 1914-1968, p. 5).
Previously folded in half, creased, discoloured and with several short tears along the edges, one corner is dog-eared.
The condition of the leaflet is noted and priced accordingly.
