The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6x30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7x50, 8x30, 10x50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service.The German 6x30 Dienstglas was one of the most common military binocular types used by the Wehrmacht, serving infantry officers, artillery personnel, reconnaissance troops, and other field units. Their protective cases were produced in a variety of materials over the course of the war, including leather, pressed materials, and molded Bakelite, with the latter offering a rigid, weather-resistant shell to protect the optics during transport and field use. These cases were designed to be worn from the belt or carried by strap and incorporated fitted internal supports to secure the binoculars against movement and impact.

Made of brown bakelite (most likely by Gustav Genschow u. Co., AG, Lederwarenfabriken, Alstadt-Hachenburg), this 6x30 power binocular case is inEXCELLENTused condition!The main body is completely intact with NO chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. The lid and hinge are fully intact and function correctly, while the spring-loaded closure latch remains complete and fully operational. The interior retains all original dividers and retaining pieces, with none of the internal fittings missing. The carrying strap is absent, however both original leather belt loops remain present and intact, which is notable as these frequently deteriorate or separate with age. The leather shows normal period wear but remains sound and usable. A faint German Waffenamt eagle marking remains visible on the lower leather strap/fitting. There is some light age-related wear and minor oxidation/discoloration to the fittings, but nothing excessive. Everything present is 100% ORIGINAL, wartime manufacture, making this a VERY NICE addition to any collection or display!
