Offered here is an outstanding original U.S. Navy officer’s dress blue uniform belonging to an unidentified Naval Aviator. The coat displays the three gold sleeve stripes and line officer’s star of a Navy Lt CommanderThe highlight of the uniform is its beautiful period bullion Naval Aviator wings. The bullion has developed a distinctive greenish patina from age, giving the wings tremendous character and exactly the sort of untouched appearance sought by advanced aviation and military collectors. No attempt has been made to clean or polish them.The coat also retains its original gilt Navy buttons and period ribbon bars, presenting a particularly handsome and complete display.
