πΊπΈ Wonderful WWI-era 88th Division medal commemorating service in France in 1918. The front features a detailed soldier with rifle/bayonet along with FRANCE 1918 and 88th Division identification.
The reverse is personally hand engraved and appears to identify a Major, followed by Medical Detachment, 313 Field Signal Bn. Please see the close-up photos for the exact interpretation of the engraved name.
The 313th Field Signal Battalion was part of the 88th Division, which was organized at Camp Dodge, Iowa, before overseas service during WWI.
