WWII 1942 BOYT M1916 US Army Leather Holster M1911 M1911A1 .45 Black
Original WWII-era U.S. military M1916 leather pistol holster manufactured by BOYT and dated 1942. Designed for the M1911/M1911A1 .45 caliber service pistol.
The holster was originally produced during WWII and was later dyed black, consistent with the U.S. military’s transition from brown leather equipment to black during the 1950s. It retains the embossed U.S. oval on the flap, BOYT 42 marking on the reverse, brass closure stud, belt slots, and metal belt hanger hooks.
This is an exceptionally clean example for its age. The leather remains remarkably supple and attractive with very little of the heavy cracking commonly encountered on these holsters. There is some roughness/dryness to the leather along the upper area and normal age-related surface wear. A light conditioning/oiling may be beneficial, but this has been left as found for the new owner to preserve or treat as desired.
