WWII-era Japanese Rising Sun silk sign with a nearly square shape.
Made from thin silk with a slightly coarse texture. Its proportions resemble those seen in Japanese regimental banners; however, no specific regimental attribution is claimed.
One vertical edge is hemmed, while the opposite edge is left raw. The upper and lower edges retain the original fabric selvages, which resist fraying.
Condition:
The white areas show overall yellowing. Small, inconspicuous holes are scattered across the fabric. Please examine all photos carefully for the condition and edge construction.
