Offered here is a very nice and exceptionally characterful WWII-period Japanese NCO pilot badge in genuine, well-worn condition.
The reverse retains an old paper label marked with the rank noted as the equivalent of Corporal. Beneath the paper label, the name of the original owner has been scratched directly into the reverse of the badge and remains clearly visible. The badge shows honest period wear consistent with extensive use, but remains in very good condition with no damage or repairs.
Of particular interest, this exact badge has previously been featured on the reference website Medals of Asia in its section devoted to well-worn Japanese pilot badges, providing an excellent additional reference for the piece.
