WWII Korean War US Navy N-3 Chambray Work Shirt Named Stenciled Lanning:
$249.99

Original, heavily worn military work shirt with authentic service wear. Displays fading, discoloration, stains, scattered marks, fraying and possible small holes or weakened areas. Prominent brown staining is present on the back. Please examine all photographs and measurements carefully.

Description:

Original WWII-pattern U.S. Navy N-3 cotton chambray work shirt, issued to and worn by Donald R. Lanning, a Kansas sailor who served in U.S. naval aviation during the Korean War.

The shirt is prominently stenciled “LANNING” above the front chest pocket. The back bears the larger identification:

LANNING D. R.

345-33-92

The second line is Lanning’s period U.S. Navy service number, firmly connecting the garment to its original owner.

Donald R. Lanning served as a U.S. Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class, or AD3, during the Korean War. Aviation Machinist’s Mates maintained and repaired aircraft engines and related mechanical systems, making this shirt a particularly interesting piece of named naval-aviation workwear.

Features include:

* Original U.S. Navy cotton chambray construction

* WWII-pattern N-3 styling

* Two buttoned chest pockets

* Blue military-style buttons

* Long sleeves with button cuffs

* Long, rounded shirttail hem

* Front and back sailor-identification stencils

* Named to Korean War Navy veteran Donald R. Lanning

* Authentic fading and service wear

Large quantities of WWII-pattern N-3 chambray shirts remained in Navy supply and continued to be issued into the Korean War period. This example combines classic wartime construction with confirmed Korean War veteran provenance.

The shirt remains in as-found condition and shows substantial wear, including fading, staining, discoloration, scattered marks, fraying and other age-related imperfections. A prominent brown stain is visible along the center back. It has not been cleaned or restored.

An excellent addition to a collection of Korean War militaria, WWII-pattern naval clothing, named veteran uniforms, U.S. naval aviation or vintage American workwear.

Vintage sizing can differ substantially from modern sizing. Please compare the provided measurements with a properly fitting garment.

See photos for condition and measurements. Ships next business day, excluding Sundays.
