A late 20th century scrimshaw horn depicting the War of 1812 U.S. Frigate Essex. This horn looks to have been hand-painted.
This fine antique piece commemorates early American history from the War of 1812. This piece is made of cow horn. Depicted is the Frigate ‘Essex’ captained by Capt. David Porter.
The artwork also depicts a cannon, crossed swords, and anchors.
This horn stands roughly 5″ War of 1812 scrimshaw commemorative horn is in exceptional condition.
