Antique West African Sahelian North Nigerian Chieftain Ceremonial Brass Staff Head which would be attached to a wooden staff to signify authority. An intricate lost-wax method cast brass heavy piece with characteristic West African swirls and patterns. About 10.5” long and weighs 1 pound, 4 ounces. The sides have holes which may have had beads or tassels attached and perhaps spinning the staff head would then act as a rattle. This is not a tourist piece.
