Zapotec WeavingThis is an exceptional Zapotec rug, chair pad or table mat in brilliant vegetable dyes. It measures a versatile 23 1/2 inches by 40 inches with 3 inches of fringe. It is hand woven in Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico with locally sourced wool that is often hand spun and hand dyed.The Zapotecs and Navajos share many designs and symbolism as we see here.Colors are red, green and gold with natural and pink. The hand spun, single ply wool makes for a very attractive puffing of weft.
