Zippo FAQ 1、Will my Zippo wear out or fade?
All items will age and show signs of wear over time, and Zippo lighters are no exception. For materials such as solid copper, silver, and black ice, due to their chemical properties, oxidation will occur once the surface protective layer wears off after a period of use. Fading and discoloration are normal phenomena. For most materials, you can restore its appearance with an eraser after it oxidizes and darkens.
2、Why does it look used?
Zippo’s design philosophy is to avoid unnecessary processing steps. Minor marks left inside during manufacturing are not cleaned off. These are NOT rust, please kindly note.
3、Is a loose lid normal?
The Zippo lid rotates on hinges. A small amount of play is required so the lid can snap open smoothly. This is a normal mechanical feature of its structure.
4、What do the markings on the bottom stamp mean?
Letters on the bottom stamp indicate the production month, and numbers represent the production year. Bottom stamp letters vary between different production batches.
