1858 FRENCH 2nd EMPIRE DRAGOON CAVALRY HELMET

Original French M 1858Dragoon EM/NCO Helmet. Brass cimier and bombe construction. Red plumet, horsehair criniere, fur bandeau, brass and leather rosace & jugulaire, brass visiere and jonc, brass and horsehair marmouset, Leather liner. Visible stamps & marks: Manufacturer\'s name stamped on the underside of the couvre-nugue - not legible. The numbers 985 & 48 are stamped on the back. Very handsome example.

Condition- Good - considering age. Liner and fur band have moderate to heavy wear.
