10 & 8.7”Snowy Duck Pair Figurine, Vintage Glazed Ceramic, Hand Paint & Signed❤️ For Sale

These charismatic and charming ducks are in great condition. No cracks or crazing, very minor chip repair at undersides and one on the standing ducks cheek and the other ducks bill as shown. The insides also reveal that they are very old. The “snow” on them is a part of the glazed finish that used to be called “frothing”. It is a substance added to the glaze paint itself before re-firing the piece in the kiln to give a swollen, frothy, stone like texture to the surface of the piece. A long lost art that is rarely seen on very old vintage pieces. They are both signed by “PB” and are 5 inches wide. The tallest is 8.75 inches tall and 7 inches long, the bending one is 6.75 inches to top of tail and 10 inches long. ❤️More elegant items and figurines are added often to my store, thank you for looking.
