Up for sale, please read the full description as this is an estate fresh item. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY Near Fall River MA - which is 50 min South of Boston MA, and 30 min East of Providence RI.
1961 Williams Deluxe Batting Champ. Estate fresh, this one is in semi working condition however will need repairs and work before it is functional. It is being sold as is, for repair with no warranties.
Starting from the top -
The backbox is original as well as all of the parts. The backglass is delaminating and is in bad condition. Repro\'s may be available from BG Resto (google search) who can make you a new backglass or I read online Gary Conway at one time had translites for this game however you may want to validate both places have availability. I\'m sure someone out there has a replacement glass for this.
I do have the back door with lock and keys and it is in good condition. Score reels are sticky and will need cleaning and repair to unstick. Lights work, however will need some replacement bulbs as some are blown.
Backbox running man unit and playfield are in good condition and the men run around the bases when the playfield options are scored. I was able to start a few games *not play, and the men corresponded to what was being scored on the playfield which is good.
Top cabinet has marks and signs of use, however the entire cabinet is in solid condition for a 1961 produced game, there is no touch up or repaint on the cabinet. Paint is 100% original.
Legs appear to be original, someone long ago spray painted the back of the legs only. Coin door is original and I have the keys for it. Apron with pitch button and batting handle are in good condition. The batting handle to swing the bat is a little stiff and could use some lube to loosen it up.
The game does start and reset. The batting mechanics under the playfield are frozen and will need to be cleaned and lubed but appear to be all there. Please see the photo. When you hit the bat on the apron it makes a buzzing sound underneath the batting unit, however due to the frozen mechanics that need to be lubed/cleaned bat DOES NOT MOVE. Again Ive showed photos of the batting unit under the playfield
The pitching unit I was unable to test. It appears to be there, however there is a spring that is missing and one is broken. When you depress the pitch button on the apron the unit does make a noise under the playfield so it is getting power/signal. The variable speed selector to the right of the pitching unit works however the solenoid to the brake is frozen and will need to be replaced.
As noted all of the playfield switches work, game coins up and resets and counts balls from what I can see. Men score correctly when corresponding switches are hit. All of the running men are there and on the playfield in the backbox. General Iumination works but will need some bulbs in spots.
As mentioned, I have the top glass, back door, and keys for the front and back. Game does start, however the pitching and batting sections will need to be repaired before the game will work.
Again this is estate fresh, and does not work correctly, it is being sold as a project machine which will need repair and cleaning.
It is being sold \"as is\" and as you see it in the photos. LOCAL PICKUP only or will work with your shipping company. I have worked with NAVAL/Beltman several times with great results and no issues. You will need to arrange shipping or pickup. Will help pack and dismantle.
