Vintage Japanese beaded handbag. From the estate of a lady who collected vintage Japanese handbags and clutches. This remarkable handbag is COVERED with fine seed beading in the forms of bold tropical flowers. Bold colors of orange, purple, green, pink, yellow, and more!!Very elaborate beading by a talented bead artist. Even the handle is beaded! Sized about 6 3/4\" tall and about 7\" wide at the widest part. Strap drop is about 5\". From about the 1970s, her relative said this bag was handmade in Japan and was purchased on a trip there. The top part is a silver colored metal frame with a kind of filigree. The clasp has an art deco feel. The interior is purple satin.Nice condition. the beading is beautiful, with no damage. Fresh lovely color. Unusual silver colored metal clasp. This looks like it just was stored away.
