This listing is for an interesting and mysterious sphere that has baffled many in the local community with similar characteristics in appearance and composition that contribute to the mystery of the klerksdorp spheres.
It is also similar to the pyrite concretions found in China.
The reason for the near perfect equilateral grooves on these spheres is debated over a natural occurrence or alteration by man.

The outer shell consists of mostly pyrite and is worn smooth on both top and bottom, shaped more like a flattened sphere.
Pictured in the condition as acquired.
Prior history was not disclosed since this is an estate piece from a collector of both artifacts (Latin American) and geological / mineral specimens from all over the world.
