Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique 19th Century ANSONIA Mechanical Wind-Up Victorian Novelty Figural Advertising Mantel Shelf Desk Clock, Made By The Ansonia Clock Company USA, For The "CAMEL BRAND BELTING COMPANY". This was a Promotional Item Given Away to People Who Used "Camel Brand Belting Products".The Original Paper over Tin Dial is Very Clean and is Signed, "Mf'd by The Ansonia Clock Co. New York USA". The Case is a Gilt Metal Figural Case of a Camel Holding a Tire with the Clock Face in the Middle. It Has the Advertising Slogan "This Time Use Camel Belting". It is Mounted to the Clock Base Which is an Actual Piece of Real 'Camel Hair Belting", with a Metal Tag That Reads, "Camel Brand Belting", Great Victorian Style Design!!! This is a Mechanical Wind-up Clock, with Ansonia Clock Movement, that Winds and Sets From the Rear. I Wound The Clock and it Started Ticking and Winds and Sets Correctly, But Has not Been Tested Long term, or For Accuracy, Sold As Found! It Measures approx. 6 1/4" x 5 3/4" x 3 1/2".
