Antique 1880's Hub Punch CH Graves Boston Pre Prohibition Liquor Bottle w Label For Sale

This antique pre-prohibition liquor bottle measures 9 1/4" tall and dates from the 1880's. It still has the original label, which shows some wear and staining, but is mostly complete and displays well. While this antique bottle of "Hub Punch" was made in Boston by C.H. Graves, the recipe is believed to have originated from the old Hub House in Thousand Island, New York, a debaucherous hotel known for its rowdy bar and dance hall in the 1870's and 1880's. A bartender at the hotel would make the rum infused "Hub Punch" every Fourth Of July. Luckily the Graves distillery decided to produce a bottled version, as the hotel burned in 1883. It remained a staple in the Boston area for many years, although at one point the drink faded into history and the recipe was lost. It has been recently revived by Bully Boy Distillers and is available once again in the Boston area.

A great looking amber bottle, with several large bubbles, it is in great shape for its age, with no cracks, chips or damage. It is embossed "The Hub Punch Registered" and has both the original label and part of the label around the neck. A real part of Boston history, this would make a great addition to your collection or would look great on display in the home bar or man cave!
