Antique Victorian Purse / Necessaire with standalone Vanity insert - Unique item
This Purse or evening bag has a black silk velvet exterior accentuated with glass beaded design and a silver plated frame. There is a Registered Design number on the frame. The Purse has a sliding clasp but would need to lock to hold securely. There is no key presently.The design is unique as inside the Purse is a cleverly designed mechanism holding the central insert with its array of needlework and vanity items. This can be lifted off the central posts and then stand alone separately from the Purse. It is exceptionally well made with its own carrying handle and lined in silks and velvet.The Purse holds a variety of items essential for a Victorian lady.
