I am pleased to offer a very fine Mandau, the Headhunters machete. It has asharp 17" blade with a finely carved wooden griphandle a style of sword used by the Borneo tribes, particularly the Dyak. The total length is 25". Original wooden scabbard is wrappedbysmall straw braiding and has anattached wooden loop piece on one side. Pocket knife is 6" longwith 4" blade.
Dates to the 19thCentury.
Condition:
In good condition showing some wear from use. Both blades have darkened and show oxidation and a few nicks. The grip shows a few small chips but no major cracks or damage. The scabbard in strong and intact showing some wear and scratches. This piece displays well and would make a fine addition to any collection.
