Antique Regimental Beer Stein 2 Batt 2 Nass Feld.Art Reg.No.63 Frankfurt a/M. 1908-09
Description: Original regimental (Reservisten) stein c.1909. Belonged to Einz. Fwr. Feistikow of 2 Battery 2 Nassau Field Artillery Regiment No.63 based in Frankfurt a/M.(am Main) in 1908-09. This regiment belonged to XVIII Imperial Army Corps. The abbreviation Einz.Fwr. most likely stands for Einzlern Feuerwerker - an army rank in an artillery regiment responsible for the ammunition (like ordnance sergeant in American Civil War armies). Another variation of the \"Einz\" could be \"Einf\" - standing for \"Einfacher mittlerer Dienst\" or \"simple middle service\" which would explain only 2 year service time (1908-1909).
Made of hard porcelain with lithophane in the bottom showing a soldier flirting with a maid. Great figural lid featuring a magnificent figure of a horseman - a common finial for Field Artillery since cannons were moved by horses. The top is made in form a part of artillery fuse - the famous German Dopp.Z.96 fuse as indicated on it. The thumblift is featuring German Imperial Eagle (Reichsadler).
Excellent condition with only some age-related wear. No damage or repair, no lithophane crazing, lid is sitting tight. The horseman figure on top is slightly bent.
It is large and impressive, standing 12.5\" tall to the top of the finial, 0.5L capacity.
Please note - this is an original authentic regimental stein from the period. I guarantee my description and dating. A rare opportunity!
Reference#: Condition: Excellent w/slightly bent finial Year: c.1908 - 1909 Country: Germany Height: 12.5 in Materials: Porcelain
