This is one fully restored straight razor made inearly 1800s by W. Greaves & Sons c.1816-1850 located in Sheffield, England.William Greaves was in business by 1780; his sons joined the firm in 1816. Itis in excellent condition with 6/8 \" barber notch point hollow ground blade,double shoulder ,no jimps, smile edge ,hollow spine.It is clean and bright ; free of any pitting, cracks, nicks, chips orsharpening damage. The cutting edge is well honed and smooth, it is shave ready. Frontshank reads MANUFACTURED BY W. GREAVES & SONS SHEAF. WORKS .It has beautifulcustom made buffalo horn handles in excellent condition free of cracks or chips pins are tight and blade centers.
