This is a gorgeous Underwood Universal 4 bank portable with its original case. It dates from the mid 1930\'s. Underwood is a product of Underwood Elliott Fisher Company, made in USA. It comes with a ribbon which is actually functional, but needs replacing. Check myTypewriter.com for their description. You can get replacement ribbons from there too. Serial number is F862712.
This typewriter is in beautiful condition - very clean and glossy with these exceptions: one scratch on the left ribbon carrier, front feet are deteriorated and one is loose. Back feet are cracked, but more or less intact.
The keys are in mostly excellent condition cosmetically. (the \"R\" and the \"T\" are a little worn - but the others are fine) ALL of the keys work easily. Nothing sticks.
The case is worn and has one broken hinge, but is intact and still perfectly protective. Here\'s the best part about the case: it smells like a typewriter, not mold. Yea!
I have added a nominal handling fee because, although I always pack like a pro, I would like to use top quality new packing materials instead of the safe but recycled kind. Maybe I even want to crate it.
