Antique German Lidded Stein

I have collected beer steins and glasses for over 50 years. Now it is time to downsize a bit, so up for sale is an antique Mettlach beer stein known as “The Lovers”.
This stein has wonderful chromolith (commonly called etched) decoration depicting a man toasting with a stein and a lady holding a flower.
The stein was designed by Christian Warth, one of the best known Mettlach artists. The Warth signature is just above the lower band.
This is a 1/4 liter stein that is 6¼ inches tall overall (almost 5 inches to the rim) and has a diameter of 3½ inches at the base (2¾ inches at the rim).
Condition: The stein is in excellent condition. It has no chips, hairlines, cracks, crazing or staining. The lid fits properly and the 5-ring hinge and strap are tight. There is a tiny flea bite on the band above the woman’s head (Photo #11) and a factory flaw on the underside of the upper band near the handle (Photo #12). The interior has light browning.
Markings: The bottom of the stein has the standard Mettlach marks. The following are impressed: the Abbey Tower with the “METTLACH V&B” banner, the mold number (1725), quality control number (24), year code (“99” for 1899) and the Roman numeral for size (“II” for the second largest size under the old code system). The capacity (1/4L) is impressed below the top rim by the handle.

Should my description be grossly inaccurate, the buyer should notify me within seven (7) days of receiving the item and return it in fourteen (14) days. I will refund the offer price when the item is returned in the same condition as it was sent to the buyer. The buyer pays shipping and insurance to return the item.
